Beauté Prestige International previews novelties for 2015

Beauté Prestige International (BPI) showcased a number of new initiatives at last month’s TFWA Exhibition in Cannes. These included the new men’s fragrance Nuit d’Issey, and the new feminine scent Narciso Eau de Parfum.

Next year the brand will unveil its first fragrance from designer Azzedine Alaïa (the licensing deal was announced in early 2013). In addition to Alaïa, BPI further expanded its portfolio in 2014, via a 15-year licensing agreement to develop Zadig & Voltaire Perfumes, and by extending its distribution deal for Burberry fragrances, to include Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

Elie Saab’s La Collection des Essences will be extended with new Vetiver and Neroli fragrances

Looking ahead to 2015, BPI will introduce Issey Miyake Expeditions and Issey Miyake City Blossom. The former is a limited-edition trio of scents linked by an Expeditions theme. L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme (Oceanic Expedition), L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Sport (Polar Expedition) and Nuit d’Issey (Austral Expedition) will be on-counter in the travel retail channel from next spring.

Issey Miyake City Blossom – a feminine scent which aims to represent the beauty of nature in the city – will feature special packaging illustrations and visuals created by guest artist Mademoiselle Maurice.

In other news, the Narciso Rodriguez portfolio will be further enhanced next autumn, with the introduction of for her l’absolu. The brand’s signature, musk-based scent will be updated with a new ad campaign, packaging and juice. Carmen Kass remains the fragrance face. In addition, an edt version of Narciso will be launched in June 2015.

On the masculine front, the for him edp – launched in 2009 – will be joined by a new version, for him bleu noir. It is said to embody the natural elegance of the modern man, by playing on the duality between tradition and modernity.

For Jean Paul Gaultier, next year the focus will be on Le Male, spearheaded by the launch of Ultra Male. The brand’s Classique and Le Male scents will also be updated with a new, pirate-themed adventure.

For Elie Saab, a key introduction next year will be the brand’s first limited-edition fragrance, Le Parfum Resort 2015. Inspired by the designer’s spring/summer 2015 collection, the flacon reflects the line’s aquatic shades. The juice, composed by Francis Kurkdjian, features notes of orange blossom, jasmine and fig.

Lastly, next year Elie Saab’s unisex La Collection des Essences line will be extended with two new fragrances, each of which pays tribute to a key perfumery accord or ingredient. Essence No 5 Vetiver and Essence No 6 Neroli will join Rose, Gardenia, Amber and Oud. The new scents are also nosed by Kurkdjian.
