Committed to quality: Managing Director Dominic Beschle |
SWITZERLAND. Family-owned Swiss chocolatier Beschle Chocolatier Suisse has announced a fresh focus on the inflight market and says that luxury confectionery offers great potential for airlines.
The Swiss brand is already listed with SAS in its Miles & More loyalty programme, Etihad and Bulgarian Airways, and also recently launched a special-edition Gold collection for SWISS International Airlines.
Managing Director Dominic Beschle, who is from the fourth generation of the family, tells The Moodie Report: “High luxury confectionery is the ideal gift solution for travellers and we are committed to increasing our presence in the global inflight market by working with our partners to create tailored solutions.”
Known for its upscale packaging, Beschle Chocolatier Suisse has developed a variety of concepts that address the issue of packaging size and price, without compromising on quality or presentation.
Tailor-made inflight packaging
“We will never compromise on the quality of our truffles in terms of ingredients and craftsmanship,” adds Beschle. “We do recognise that price and size are important requirements for inflight, so to address this we can offer tailor-made inflight packaging for our truffles, making the price attractive whilst still offering the same quality of product.”
At the recent Airline Retail Conference 2011 in London, Beschle says the chocolate brand received great interest from airline partners and is looking to develop new listings this year.
Europe is already a very strong market, and the Middle East and Asia are also key regions for growth. The company is expanding into the US and Canada and will also be targeting the travel retail market, including inflight, in 2011.
“Beschle is one of a handful of fine, high-end luxury chocolatiers in the world,” explains Beschle. “We cannot be compared or likened to the mass-market premium brands, which are already well distributed in travel retail. We offer something unique in terms of quality and our brand appeals to chocolate connoisseurs and aficionados.
“We can make bespoke ranges for airlines and create individuals boxes for tasting onboard in first class. Our focus is on luxury and the business traveller; it is the airlines who are focused on this segment of the market that we are interested in talking to.”
