Big changes at Eurest with new structure, headquarters and management appointments – 01/09/04

SPAIN. Eurest Inflight Services Holding today announced a number of “significant developments” in relation to its inflight business strategy.

These include new senior management appointments and a new headquarters.

Eurest has integrated its logistics and onboard retail services – Inflight Logistics Company (ILC) and Gusto+ into a new operation called Retail and Logistics Management (RLM).

By focussing specifically on retail (Gusto + and ILC) and traditional inflight activities (Eurest Inflight Services and Catering Aérien), Eurest Inflight Services Holding said it now offers a clearly differentiated approach to the standard “one-size-fits-all” industry philosophy.

President and CEO of Olivier Sadran said: “This enables Eurest Inflight Services Holding to communicate with key decision-makers in a way that reflects airline operations today. This innovative approach to the market will include new products and concepts from Gusto+, and will not be bound by traditional airline catering parameters.”

Sadran said the changes will allow the company to better anticipate the needs of airlines and provide effective solutions; to become the specialist in differentiation for the inflight catering market; and to clearly define retail and logistics management as a specific alternative to traditional airline catering.”

In line with these changes, a RLM team will be created with headquarters in Barcelona. The division is seeking a suitable location near Barcelona airport, including a showroom and offices. Traditional airline catering headquarters will remain in Palma de Mallorca.

Under a new management structure Eurest Inflight Services Holding Company will continue to be headed by President and CEO, Olivier Sadran. Effective 1 October the current Executive Vice-President Commercial and Development Director, Philippe Chavaroc, will become CEO of RLM and develop its international platform.

His former role will be filled by two additional appointments, both experienced and respected within the inflight industry.

Christian Bris joins Eurest Inflight Services as Commercial Director of traditional airline catering. He will report to Sadran and will work alongside the Executive Vice-President for Finance, Jesus Peña, and Operations, Jean Louis Chicon.

Julian Silvester joins Eurest Inflight Services Holding, as Commercial and Development Director for RLM in Barcelona and will report directly to Chavaroc.

Sadran said: “These appointments reflect our strategic goals of providing clients with innovative solutions to their onboard service needs and to positioning our operations close to our clients’ home airports”.
