UAE. Dubai food and confectionery specialist BMB Group has struck a travel retail distribution agreement with Kreol Travel Retail amid plans to accelerate its global presence.
As reported, the company, whose name is short for Baklava Made Better, has put a strong focus on its two key brands – Petit Gourmet and Freakin’ Healthy – as part of its travel retail expansion strategy.
From a start-up company established in 2007, BMB has since grown and now exports its products to more than 23 countries worldwide. It is known for making healthy snacks and confectionery, including Mediterranean sweets such as baklava, at its advanced production facilities in Dubai.
BMB is a part of the Agthia Group, an Abu Dhabi-based food and beverage conglomerate.
Commenting on the new deal, BMB Senior Vice President Mohamad Khachab said: “We are committed to expanding into travel retail with Kreol Group’s experience in this industry guiding the way forward. We have an amazing range of products which are ideal for travellers.”
Kreol Group CEO Lal Arakulath also commented: “Being a UAE-based company ourselves, we are proud to be associated with the home-grown BMB and are quite excited by this new mission.”
Kreol Travel Retail seeks to expand its international travel retail footprint. It has a strong commercial presence in the Arabian Gulf countries, India and Africa, serving all the major duty-free operators in those markets.
Kreol is a long-time partner of Dufry in the duty free operation at Cochin International Airport, India. ✈
