US. Fast-growing US handbag brand Bolzano continues to extend its presence in the Caribbean and onboard the airlines as it gears up for its second showing at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas this month.
In the Caribbean, the handbags went on-counter in November 2009 with Cave Shepherd Barbados and Penha Curaçao. In addition, new doors in Puerto Rico and Venezuela opened in December.
New airline listings include India Jet Air and Sri Lanka Air. Both carriers listed the Roma Clutch in python print lambskin.

Sales were brisk over Christmas, according to the company.
Beth Abbot, proprietor of the Shades accessories boutique in Antigua, reported: “Bolzano has added significant value to our product assortment – adding handbags to our offering helped us double our sales in December versus 2008 and Bolzano was a big part of that. Both my local customers and tourists are interested in the line. Locals are coming in frequently to check if we’ve added something new to the assortment.”
New additions to the assortment for Spring/Summer 2010 will include the Sienna Cross-Body, Fiore Passport Holder and Alisse Messenger Couture Collection.
Fresh new Spring colours will be offered in the classic Fiore, Alisse and Corsetto lines. The new models and colours will be shown at the 2010 IAADFS show in Orlando later this month.
Bolzano testimonial
Bolzano reported that a United Airlines flight attendant had sent in the following testimonial about the brand. She wrote: “I have just about everything you have offered through United [Airlines] Duty Free over the past few years. They are wonderful! I receive so many comments on the bags – even the kind that say ‘when you are finished with it’…”
Her testimonal continues: “The big bags are not just overnighters but weekenders; they are great for travel and the rest of the time too. Wonderful products – well made and easy to care for.”
