Bombay Sapphire and Ammex Duty Free add a sense of theatre for consumers at new Michigan border store

US. Bombay Sapphire has engaged Bacardi Brand Ambassador Trevor Burnett to interact with consumers in the Bombay Sapphire bar at Ammex Duty Free’s new border store in Detroit, Michigan. The store, said to be the largest on the US-Canada frontier, opened in April.

From 23 to 24 July Burnett prepared premium Bombay Sapphire cocktails for consumers of legal drinking age, including the Bombay Sapphire Cosmopolitan, Bombay Sapphire Collins and the classic Bombay Sapphire Martini.

Travellers were able to step behind the bar with Burnett and learn first-hand how to make these premium cocktails at home. Burnett also conducted brand training for the Ammex staff.

As reported, Ammex Duty Free in Detroit is currently exhibiting the winners of the Bombay Sapphire Designer Glass Competition until October 2009.

The Bombay Sapphire Designer Glass Competition challenged emerging artists to interpret the classic martini glass in their own styles, drawing inspiration from the Bombay Sapphire gin brand. The competition was open to all designers of legal drinking age, with a maximum of three years post graduation working in the design industry.

Finalists were chosen by a panel of renowned design experts. Entries are judged according to functionality, innovation, aesthetics and inspiration from Bombay Sapphire.
