Bacardi-owned Bombay Sapphire has launched a limited-edition gin in travel retail to coincide with World Gin Day on 8 June.
To celebrate the launch of Bombay Sapphire English Estate and World Gin Day, The Moodie Davitt Report website has undergone a vibrant makeover.

Bombay Sapphire English Estate is inspired by the landscape surrounding the brand’s Laverstoke Mill Distillery in the English countryside.
It has initially launched as an Asia exclusive with DFS at Singapore Changi Airport, and will be rolled out across other regions in both travel retail and domestic markets. The release will be available for 12 months.

According to Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire English Estate is the first of a planned series of limited-edition products that it hopes will “ignite the premium gin category over the coming years”.
Bombay Sapphire currently holds a 44% share of the premium gin category in global travel retail, Bacardi said. IWSR 2017 figures showed that it was the fastest growing gin in Asia Pacific that year, at 13%.

The gin’s citrus flavour is infused with three new botanicals in the limited-edition: pennyroyal mint, rosehip and toasted hazelnut. According to the brand, the blend of botanicals “results in bright citrus notes, invigorated with mint, which create a light and vibrant taste for the ultimate summer gin, designed to be enjoyed creatively in a variety of cocktails”.
The launch of Bombay Sapphire English Estate is being supported by a global campaign.
Two cocktails have also been specifically curated to showcase the flavours of the new limited-edition. The Secret English Garden blends Bombay Sapphire English Estate with Fever-Tree ginger ale and cloudy apple juice, served long with lemon, apple, thyme and ice. Bombay Sapphire English Estate Gin & Tonic is a single or double measure combined with Fever-Tree tonic, served over ice, garnished with mint and a lemon wedge.

“English Estate has been meticulously developed to meet the needs of a consumer and category that celebrates craftsmanship, but also appreciates the luxury of classic cocktails,” said Bacardi Global Travel Retail Marketing Director Julie Witherden.
“The addition of locally sourced botanicals creates a perfectly balanced, unique expression of our iconic Bombay Sapphire brand to produce a delicate gin perfect for long, relaxing summer afternoons.”
