Italian wines & spirits house Bottega has introduced Bottega 0 sparkling rosé, a non-alcoholic wine.
Bottega 0 was developed to meet the needs of consumers who, for health, religious or other reasons, do not consume alcohol.

“Bottega 0 evokes the great tradition of sparkling wines, of which it is an original non-alcoholic evolution,” the company said. “It lends itself to well-established ways of consumption, and to celebrating the ritual of the toast, thanks to the timeless charm of the bubbles.”
Bottega said a “skilful dosage” of carbon dioxide gives the drink freshness, liveliness and character, despite its zero-alcohol content, adding that a white version will be available soon.
Bottega 0’s production process starts at harvest, with bunches of grapes picked and selected for a good sugar/acidity balance. The grapes are destemmed and pressed into a must, which is stored in refrigerated tanks to prevent any alcoholic fermentation. After the addition of carbon dioxide, the product is filtered and bottled. |
Bottega said Bottega 0 should be consumed cold. Serving suggestions include as a cocktail ingredient while the drink pairs well with cheese, pastries, tarts and fruit.
Bottega 0 is available at Harvey Nichols in the UK, priced at £9.50 (US$13).
