BPI and Narciso Rodriguez announce new joint venture

Beauté Prestige International (BPI) and Narciso Rodriguez have consolidated their current licensing agreement by creating a new joint venture. It will be 70% owned by Narciso Rodriguez Corp, with the remaining 30% held by BPI.

The new company will house the Narciso Rodriguez trademark in class 3, fragrance and cosmetics. The Narciso Rodriguez trademarks in all other categories will be wholly owned by Narciso Rodriguez Corp.

“This venture comes at a time of great momentum for the Rodriguez brand which has expanded its core ready-to-wear business as well as launched an accessories collection widely praised by the media and retailers,” noted BPI in a statement.

The original license agreement between Narciso Rodriguez and BPI began more than a decade ago with the launch of For Her in 2003. That fragrance has subsequently seen double-digit growth over the past ten years, and in 2012 was voted the best women’s perfume of the past 20 years by members of the French Fragrance Foundation. For Her currently enjoys a top 10 ranking in various key global markets.
