GERMANY. Braun and Oral-B have won commendations following tests conducted by Stiftung Warentest, the independent German foundation and regional authority on consumer product testing.
In the June issue of the foundation’s “test” magazine, 12 hair straighteners were put to the test and judged against the following criteria: styling results, hair damage, use, handling, technical function, and safety. The expert panel awarded the highest rating of “˜very good’ to Braun’s Satin Hair 7 ES 2, saying it was “worth the price”.
The product was noted for its high quality, smooth NanoGlide ceramic plates, which “glide through hair without resistance, lending it beautiful shine”. If too much pressure is placed on the hair, the flexibly mounted ceramic plates immediately give way, protecting the hair during daily styling. The testers additionally praised the device’s heating electronics, which prevent styling temperatures exceeding 200°C.
