GERMANY. Braun claims men will have “their closest and most comfortable shave ever” with the new Pulsonic, which is to be showcased at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes later this month (Stand number: Mediterranean village TF15).
Designed to capture more hair in fewer strokes, Braun claims the Pulsonic is the only shaving system on the market with a sonic motor that powers a high frequency, pulsating shaver head. It says: “A dynamic shaver head stimulates the skin to loosen and raise problem hairs for greater cutting efficiency and a thorough, comfortable shave.” Aesthetically the Pulsonic is said to be “unmistakably Braun”.
Also unveiled will be the Braun Exact Series, made up of two products which aim to exploit potential in a growing male hair removal market – an ear and nose trimmer, and a precision trimmer for other body areas. According to the company, the series provides “perfect gifting and impulse purchase opportunities, supported by eye-catching packing.”
New products
Pulsonic: Top model 9595 features an LCD display “for all vital information” and is supplied complete with Braun’s patented cleaning centre. Suggested duty free European selling price: €289 (US$362). Pulsonic 9585 and solo version 9565 complete the line.
Ear & Nose Hair Trimmer EN 10: Powered by a single Duracell AA battery (included) and marketed as small and discreet, it “painlessly cuts stray hairs precisely, safely and conveniently”; can be rinsed clean under running water and stands upright on a flat base for storage.
Precision Trimmer PT 10: A slim, slightly angled head that can be rinsed clean under running water deals with unsightly hairs on the neck, eyebrows, sideburns, back, shoulders or anywhere else. Said to be “accurate enough to remove just one hair, or a troublesome patch,” it comes with a single Duracell AAA battery, a stand for storage, plus trimming combs, a protective cap and a cleaning brush.
