BrewDog launches at London Gatwick in first UK venture with SSP Group

UK. BrewDog has opened a craft beer and cocktails tap room, all-day restaurant and gaming suite at London Gatwick North Terminal with new partner SSP Group.

The two companies recently launched a similar, multi-faceted BrewDog bar at Amsterdam Centraal railway station, the first of its kind in a travel location in mainland Europe.

The new bar is offering travellers 20 craft beers on tap, curated guest beers, Wonderland cocktails, BrewDog Distilling Co. spirits, Hawkes Cider and a wide selection of wines, as well as a fun ‘Press for Beer’ button – a popular feature from BrewDog’s high street locations.

BrewDog Co-Founder and CEO James Watt said: “We’re so pleased to open our epic new bar at London Gatwick, with our brilliant partners SSP. Whether you are heading off on holiday or a quick work trip, the bar is packed with BrewDog’s fantastic features for passengers to pass the time.”

Bestsellers such as Lost Lager, Wingman and Punk IPA will be available as well as a BrewDog Gatwick-exclusive called Flight Squad.

From the food menu passengers can tuck into wings, flatbreads, veggie burgers and another London Gatwick exclusive, smashed patty melts – a griddled sandwich of both chicken and beef.

Breakfast is served daily until midday and includes smoothie bowls and pancakes, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, as well as a children’s menu.

Gatwick is the latest location in BrewDog’s ever-expanding global portfolio, which now covers more than 100 bars and hotels, with plans to open a further 200 in key global markets over the next seven years.

Gatwick marks the 128th opening for the brand.

Beyond food and drink, BrewDog Gatwick offers travellers Zoom rooms for quiet calls, a photobooth and a gaming zone with a selection of PlayStation and Xbox games.

CEO SSP UK & Ireland Kari Daniels said teaming up with BrewDog was a natural choice. “Our shared ambition and combined expertise means we and BrewDog have been able to create something really special here at London Gatwick.

“We’re confident it will have massive appeal to the particular passenger demographic.”

The partnership will see SSP open and operate a number of BrewDog bars at airports and railway stations across the UK. Read more about SSP Group’s latest and robust set of results here.
