Budapest Airport’s SkyCourt, the F&B and shopping centre where a range of shops are being tendered from this month |
HUNGARY. Budapest Airport has called for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from travel retailers in its forthcoming tender for outlets in SkyCourt, the shopping and food & beverage centre in Terminal 2B. The tenders come as the airport company seeks to lift the standard of speciality retailing at Budapest.
The stores (12 in total) span 600sq m, with five-year contracts at stake across a variety of categories including fashion & accessories, watches & jewellery and news & books.
“With annual passenger growth rates averaging +10%, and retail revenues increasing by +9%, now is an ideal time for any potential new retailers to join Budapest Airport in what we believe are extremely high-yielding segments of SkyCourt,” said Chief Commercial Officer Kam Jandu. “Our fantastic first quarter traffic results are playing an important role in attracting the dynamic and spirited players we want to come and make their mark at Budapest.”

Retailers should present EOIs to retailtender@bud.hu by indicating the tender number in each case. Retailers can bid for one, all or a combination of the shops.
Submission deadline is 5 June 2015. The RFP containing all relevant information will be issued after review of the EOIs.
Budapest Airport handled 9.16 million passengers last year, and has just recorded its strongest-ever first quarter for traffic. It recently added new long-haul flights with Emirates, Air China and Air Transat.
