Bvlgari, Gucci, Prada and Christian Dior complete luxury line-up at London Heathrow Terminal 5 – 13/02/08

UK. London Heathrow Terminal 5 will feature stand-alone boutiques from Bvlgari, Gucci, Prada and Christian Dior when it opens on 27 March, BAA announced today.

Specifically designed for Terminal 5, the Bvlgari store will offer a boutique-style shop housing a range of watches, leather goods and accessories.

The Italian luxury brand will showcase its jewellery collection alongside vintage pieces never previously featured in travel retail. Exclusive to Terminal 5 will be a pendant specifically designed for the opening.

The Christian Dior store will blend modern and 18th century design, said BAA, showcasing a complete range of accessories including handbags, shoes and fine jewellery.

Prada, one of the most influential names in fashion, will also open a store in Terminal 5. The store will offer both men’s and women’s accessories and a selection of ready-to-wear pieces.

Iconic fashion label Gucci completes the luxury line-up for the new terminal. This will be the first location in Europe featuring the new Gucci flagship design. On offer will be Gucci’s collection of handbags, footwear and accessories.

Terminal 5 Retail Director Nick Ziebland said: “Terminal 5 will offer a unique experience for passengers travelling through the airport. We are proud to team up with luxury brands such as Bvlgari, Gucci, Prada and Christian Dior to add to the full range and diversity of shops that are already planned for the terminal.

“With their shared commitment to surprise and delight the traveller, these brands will help ensure that Terminal 5 provides an original and exciting retail experience.”

About Heathrow Terminal 5

London Heathrow Terminal 5 is due to open in March 2008. The £4.3 billion development – one of Europe’s largest construction projects and described as “a new Landmark for London” – will cater for around 27 million passengers annually.

Terminal 5 aims to set new standards in retail and dining with 112 different shops, bars, restaurants and services from which to choose.

The terminal will incorporate 20,066sq m of retail space, focused on two floors of the structure, predominantly in the airside environment.

The development will increase the size of Heathrow’s retail portfolio by +50%. About 420 media sites will also be built into the fabric of the building.

The traveller demographic is anticipated to be 92% ABC1 in profile, and the terminal will be used exclusively by British Airways for its domestic, European and international destinations.
