Travel essentials specialist Cabeau will spotlight its latest travel pillow ranges at the forthcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, 1-5 October (Yellow Village A21).
The brand’s Neck’s Evolution S3 (TNE), Air TNE and Evolution Earth lines now all feature Cabeau’s chinstrap technology, to offer a customisable fit to keep the user’s spine in neutral alignment while preventing head drops and neck kinks.
Cabeau CEO David Sternlight said: “These three pillows have been received incredibly well. Our customers were excited about the innovation, and we worked hard together to make the transition into these new products ahead of an astounding travel season, post pandemic.”
According to Sternlight, the TNE pillows are an upgrade of Cabeau’s previous bestseller, the Evolution S3. “We looked at where our travel pillows could make a leap into a great product,” he said. “We’re proud that this travel pillow is not only the most ergonomically comfortable pillow on the market, but also provides 360-degree support.”
Sternlight welcomed the return of inflight business and Cabeau’s collaborations with several airlines including Kenya Airways, Edelweiss Air, China Airlines, Vietnam Airlines and EVA Air.
He commented: “We are happy to see the inflight business come back post-pandemic and we do well in this category with our Air TNE travel pillows. Because of the compact size and inflatable option, these are the perfect inflight option for those finding themselves in an uncomfortable position.”
With a focus on sustainability, Cabeau’s Evolution Earth is the company’s first travel pillow to use RPET fabric and recyclable packaging materials. The brand has also compressed its memory foam pillows to shrink shipping carton size by -43%.
“This significantly cuts global transport fuel consumption across the supply chain and slashes corrugated packaging use,” Sternlight said. E-catalogues have also been introduced to save valuable resources and materials.
“We take our sustainability measures seriously and the Evolution Earth has allowed us to create a new way of looking at business moving forward in order to continue to support our sustainability offerings,” Sternlight added.
In 2022 Cabeau partnered with CleanHub as part of its aim to become plastic neutral. Sternlight pointed out that the brand committed to and met its goal of stopping almost 25,000kg of ocean-bound plastic and re-routing it to recycle and waste-management facilities. Cabeau has also joined CleanHub’s ‘Road to Zero’ plan, with updated efforts to be announced soon.
“Our leadership team empowers us to be great and take big swings. Because of this, our collective inventive spirit ensures that we are always looking to improve,” Sternlight said.
On the brand’s recent performance in travel retail, Sternlight noted: “In addition to opening several new accounts, we have successfully transitioned into new products with our partners. This is never an easy operation to execute but our retail partners have been stellar, and we look to grow our footprint in 2024.
“As the US and European markets have seemingly returned to normal in regard to travel in 2023, we look to continue our expansion into Asia, Africa and Latin America as those markets ramp up their global travel endeavours.”
Considering the challenges facing the brand, Sternlight said product copying “remains a significant obstacle for manufacturers”.
“We place a great emphasis on ensuring our products are patent protected where necessary to avoid copycats and knockoffs,” he added.
