Cairo Airport Company invites Expressions of Interest to develop medical centre

EGYPT. Cairo Airport Company is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from investors to establish and operate an integrated multidisciplinary medical centre in the heart of its Airport City. The facility will be situated in around 100,000sq m of space overlooking the main entrance to Cairo International Airport.

The centre is expected to provide about 200 beds which will meet the needs of many medical specialties. The project will be implemented through a design-build-finance-operate-transfer (DBFOT) long-term concession.

The new medical centre will be situated close to Cairo International Airport’s main entrance. The airport is Africa’s busiest, serving just over 20 million passengers in 2022.

Applicant companies are expected to have a minimum of three years’ experience in the healthcare sector. They must also have experience in establishing and managing specialised medical centres and have implemented and managed at least one similar project.

Interested applicants may form a consortium or joint venture to meet the eligibility criteria. A branch of the company should be established in Egypt to implement the project’s management.

The deadline to submit the EOI is 18 June 2023.
