Camus extends Rarissimes range with limited release of 40yo Cognac

The limited edition Camus Rarissimes 40yo

The House of Camus has added a limited edition 40yo Cognac to its Rarissimes range, which will be unveiled at the TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition next week (stand number: J8).

Available worldwide from June 2014, the 40yo (70cl) has a recommended duty free price of US$780 (€590). The first presentation of the product is signed by House of Camus Cellar Master Patrick Léger.

To preserve and ensure the quality of this 2014 edition – at 40.9%abv and limited to 991 bottles – the filling of each one was witnessed by a bailiff, Camus stated.

Camus said it is one of the few Cognac houses offering distinct vintages, giving connoisseurs the opportunity to acquire bottles of an “extraordinary quality that guarantee an exceptional tasting experience”. The Cognacs in the Camus Rarissimes range, available exclusively in limited editions, are chosen to mark a special vintage, vineyard or event, and the Rarissimes “˜seal of rarity’ distinguishes them as extraordinary Cognacs, the House added.

The Rarissimes 40yo bottle features a platinum Camus plaque and is presented in an oak case. It will also be showcased at the Vinexpo Asia-Pacific 2014 later this month (stand number: 3M44).

Tasting Notes
Colour: Shades of topaz with hints of antique gold
Nose: Each aroma is expressed freely, lengthening into candied fruit notes with a touch of oak
Palate: Flavours from fruit to oak with floral and spicy notes lead to a “gourmet festival of marron glacé”
