Capi has rolled out a large-scale campaign to support the launch of YotaPhone 2 in its stores throughout Europe and South Africa.
The promotion of the dual-display, “˜always-on’ smartphone kicked off at Plaza, Capi’s landside store at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on 3 December. Travellers and regular shoppers were able to see and try the product through Capi’s “˜touch and feel’ presentation manned by dedicated promoters.
Yota Devices, the international private manufacturer of YotaPhone 2, is contributing to the overall campaign with face-to-face staff training at all Capi locations.
Speaking at the official launch, Yota Devices Vice President EMEA Sales Jens-Uwe Theumer said: “4 December is the official launch date of the world’s first smartphone with two fronts. We are very pleased to partner with Capi for this event. They are the ideal platform for international product introductions such as this.”
Yotaphone is available in all Capi locations from 6 December 2014.
Royal Capi-Lux Managing Director Peter Wiggers said: “Last month we announced our partnership with Yota Devices. We are proud of our exclusive partnership with Yota Devices and look forward to a successful product launch.”
YotaPhone 2 is said to be distinct thanks to its two fully touch-enabled displays. It has a high-definition 1080p AMOLED screen as well as an always-on e-paper display (EPD) screen. According to Capi, the smartphone is energy-efficient and will continue to show the last information displayed even when the handset’s battery is drained.
“With its two screens, 4G network connection, a battery life of up to over three days and a thickness of only 8.95mm, YotaPhone 2 can only be referred to as a true innovation in the smartphone market,” Capi concluded.
