URUGUAY. Carrasco International Airport has joined forces with Magzter, the world’s largest digital news kiosk (www.magzter.com), to enhance the passenger experience by introducing a complimentary, contactless and paperless digital reading service.
As South America’s first Smart Reading Airport, Carrasco now offers passengers the chance to read their favourite magazines and newspapers at the terminal.
Travellers can access more than 9,000 magazines, newspapers, specialised magazines and comics for free while in the airport.
They can download the Magzter app from the App Store or Google Play Store for free unlimited access within the georeferenced area, eliminating the need for a subscription.
While at the airport, passengers can open the Magzter app, click on the SRZ (Smart Reading Zone) tab, grant location permission to the app, and enjoy free unlimited access to reading.
They can also download their favourite titles while at the airport and access them offline during their flight.
Magzter’s extensive catalogue includes several of the best-selling Spanish-language publications such as ¡Hola!, Elle, Marie Claire, Semana, Forbes, Computer Hoy, Auto Bild and Vanidades.
It also offers thousands of globally popular titles, including Time, Cosmopolitan, Newsweek, Car & Driver, The Guardian, Vogue and GQ, in more than 40 categories and in over 60 languages.
These categories include automotive, business, comics, entertainment, fashion, health, lifestyle, news, politics, science, sports, technology and travel.
By promoting digital reading among millions of people around the world, Magzter claims to have conserved tens of thousands of trees and other natural resources, actively contributing to the Go Green movement.
This partnership represents an important step forward in the digital reading movement, reinforcing Magzter’s commitment to providing a contactless and environmentally friendly reading experience.
As Magzter expands its presence globally, the Smart Reading Airport concept is poised to transform the travel experience for millions of passengers around the world, the partners claimed.
“We are committed to technology as an ally to transform the experience of each of our passengers,” said Aeropuertos Uruguay Operations and Experience Manager Federico Cabrera.
“Integrating solutions such as Magzter allows us to offer them a more personalised experience, giving them the possibility of accessing content adapted to their preferences, and thus making their time at our airport increasingly enjoyable.
“This tool combines innovation and personalisation to offer an experience that meets passenger expectations.”
Magzter CEO Girish Ramdas added: “With the launch of the Smart Reading Airport initiative at Carrasco International Airport, we are proud to be at the forefront of digital innovation in the aviation industry.
