UK. French jeweller Cartier is the latest luxury brand to join the impressive line-up at Harrods in London Heathrow Terminal 5.
The concession, located in the terminal’s Harrods store, opened one week before Christmas and is trading “extremely well”, according to BAA.
Occupying 35sq m, the Cartier concession houses a broad array of lines, from watches and leathergoods to pens and sunglasses. The most popular purchases in the first month of trading are from Cartier’s core watch offering.
The Tank Solo watch in steel retails at £1,234.75, compared to the regular UK price of £1,420; the Santos 100 watch in steel is £3,173.90 compared to the regular UK price of £3,650; and Cartier’s best-selling watch, the Tank Française in steel, is £2,078.25, representing a saving of £311.75 on the regular UK price of £2,390.
The Cartier concession covers all price points with lines starting at £100 for a keyring through to 18ct gold watches retailing at around £25,000.
BAA Head of Category for Fashion and Accessories Hazel Curry said: “Cartier is a global byword for luxury. The selection of watches, which are coveted internationally, available at airport prices are already proving a popular addition to the airport shopping experience in Terminal 5.”
