GERMANY. Casualfood has opened its fourth Goodman & Filippo concept across European airports.
The Italo-American deli is now at Frankfurt Airport, following openings at Düsseldorf, Cologne Bonn and Slovenia’s Ljubljana airports, since September 2016.
Goodman & Filippo was named Europe’s ‘New Food & Beverage Concept of the Year’ at the 2017 FAB Awards.

In Frankfurt, the around 80sq m airside eatery offers passengers a direct view of the runway. The restaurant, which uses the sous-vide method of cooking, has seating for 31 guests.
“The excellent Goodman & Filippo concept goes down very well with our guests,” commented casualfood Managing Partners Stefan Weber and Michael Weigel.
“The three delis opened so far in Germany and abroad already exceeded our expectations during the opening period. And we expect to see our latest concept in Frankfurt proving to be very popular too.”
Goodman & Filippo’s offer is based on freshness and quality. The menu includes items such as the New York surf and turf burger, a chicken club sandwich, pasta and detox/quinoa salads. Fruit and vegetable smoothies and wine round out the offer.
Italian and American specialities are also on sale as food souvenirs.
Casualfood reported a near +20% increase in profits in 2017, with net sales reaching €51.5 million (US$64.3 million).
