GERMANY. A new food & beverage venue with a strong local flavour has opened on Willy-Brandt-Platz, overlooking the main entrance to Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Deli Berlin – which features a large terrace area – is an all-day concept described by operator casualfood as a “feel good place to eat”.
The breakfast menu features popular classics such as scrambled or fried eggs with bacon and yoghurt with fruit. Also available is homemade vegan coconut milk porridge.

From lunchtime onwards, guests can choose from dishes including pasta, burgers, baked potatoes, ‘bowl food’ and salads.
Food is also available to take away throughout the day.

Meanwhile, the drinks menu includes homemade lemonade, smoothies and freshly-squeezed sugar cane juice, Berlin beers, wines and cocktails.
Casualfood Managing Partner Stefan Weber said: “We are delighted to be taking the next step and opening Deli Berlin at BER now too. We developed the concept specifically for this airport, drawing on elements of Berlin’s history to suit the location.”

Initially, casualfood said there will be a soft opening of the terrace at Deli Berlin, with the restaurant offering a limited number of seats. The terrace will be completed over the next few weeks.
Deli Berlin lines up alongside casualfood’s other Berlin-centred concepts at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, such as East Side Berlin and the Berlin Pub. Other eateries in the company’s portfolio at the airport include Goodman & Filippo, Hermann’s, Beans & Barley, basta! and Kamps.
