Cat Design treats top-flight crew to Mallorca trip – 27/08/08

UK. Leading inflight jewellery supplier Cat Design treated three of its top-selling cabin crew to a trip to Mallorca, Spain to visit the Orquidea Pearl factory.

Vanessa Church and Cherieanne D’Souza from Virgin Atlantic and Reagan Newby from XL Airways were the winners of the Carlo Gioielliere incentive for cabin crew which was run by both airlines earlier this year.

The lucky trio sold the most Carlo Gioielliere jewellery onboard the two airlines.

The promotion was a collaboration between Cat Design, XL Airways inflight retail team and Tourvest Duty Free UK, which manages Virgin Atlantic’s inflight programme. According to Cat Design, the incentives promoted by the two airline retail teams delivered great results.

Cat Design International Sales & Marketing Director Richard Thorpe escorted the three winners on the trip. They were each presented with a framed certificate at London Gatwick Airport before departing for Mallorca.

The trip comprised an evening in a luxury hotel with cocktails and dinner followed by a visit to the Orquidea Pearl factory the following day. Company owner Alberto Forgas took the group on a guided tour, showing the manufacturing process of Orquidea Pearl jewellery. The trio were presented with a special gift each and treated to a traditional local lunch before heading home.

“The trip was short but really packed with activity,” said Thorpe. “We received a great welcome at Orquidea and it was a truly memorable visit to Mallorca. I am always looking at new ways to help boost sales for both our partners and ourselves. This was a first for us but the results were excellent and I will be looking at other ideas of how to increase sales for our airline partners in the future.”
