UK. Caxton FX, the foreign exchange specialist and prepaid currency card provider, has launched a mobile app offering on-the-spot currency conversion.
Designed for iPhone and available through iTunes store, the app aims to help Caxton FX customers manage their currency dealings abroad. One of its main features – available to all users who download the app – offers currency conversion in an instant. SnapEx enables users to hold their phone over a menu (for example) and see the price converted from, say, Euros to Pound Sterling at the current exchange rate.
Caxton FX customers can also view prepaid currency card balances, top up prepaid currency cards and check account transaction history.
Caxton FX Managing Director James Hickman said: “We’re committed to making our customers’ lives easier, and the Caxton FX iPhone app will allow them to take even greater control of their finances when they’re abroad this summer.
“Our research found that 1 in 5 Brits are only able to convert amounts up to €50 in their heads, so clearly Brits need a little help with currency conversion and we hope our app will give people greater confidence with money while they’re on holiday.
“We already allow people to manage their prepaid card accounts by SMS, phone and online, so our new mobile app is another way we’re helping our customers,” he concluded.
