CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) is celebrating the successful opening of the first Rimowa duty free store in Greater China at the retailer’s Sanya Duty Free complex on Hainan Island.
The 65sq m store, opened on 29 July, is only the high-end luggage brand’s second store in Asia, following an earlier entry in South Korea. It offers a wide range of suitcases and other luggage items in a range of colours and styles. Rimowa, which CDFG described as the world’s largest luggage brand, has opened a number of stores in key Chinese cities over recent years, including Beijing, Shanghai and Shenyang.
CDFG said the opening was part of a commitment to offer its customers “more comprehensive high-end choices”.
