PHILIPPINES. Cebu Pacific Air, the Philippines’ largest airline, has signed a new five-year contract with its incumbent duty free partner, Hong Kong-based inflight specialist King Power Traveler (KPT) until 2018.
“Cebu Pacific looks forward to providing passengers with an enhanced duty free retail service on all our international flights, especially now that we are expanding our operations outside of Asia,” said Cebu Pacific Air President and CEO Lance Gokongwei.
King Power Traveler (KPT) President Rakhita Jayawardena said: “We are honoured to have been re-appointed as the inflight duty free service provider for Cebu Pacific. We will continue in our pursuit to contribute positively towards enhancing the all-important ancillary revenue streams of the airline with the delivery of a qualitative and innovative inflight duty free retail service.”
Cebu Pacific established its inflight duty free service in 2009, in cooperation with the Antares Cheng-led KPT. The service is available on all of Cebu Pacific’s international flights to and from Manila and Cebu.
Cebu Pacific’s 47-strong fleet offers flights to 22 international destinations: Brunei, Cambodia (Siem Reap), Mainland China (Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xiamen), Hong Kong, Indonesia (Bali and Jakarta), Japan (Osaka), South Korea (Busan and Incheon), Macau, Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Singapore, Taiwan (Taipei), Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket), United Arab Emirates (Dubai), Vietnam (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City); and 34 Philippine destinations.
KPT is one of the largest Asian duty free and travel retailers specialising in the inflight sector, with a strong presence with leading international carriers in the region.
