Joining them on the board of directors is Urška Binter, who is Ljubljana Airport Head of Commercial at Fraport Slovenia. She said: “I am both honoured and excited to be joining the board. The association offers a great opportunity to exchange best practice and receive industry insights and can count on my energy and engagement to keep on growing.”

The AGM, held virtually, welcomed new members including travel retailer Baltona, drinks brand Mikrogorzelnia and airport company Fraport Slovenia. It also approved a new budget for 2024, which targets an increase of its activities and in the membership base.

In his review of last year’s activities, Milaszewicz highlighted the two successful regional travel retail forums, which were held in Warsaw and Prague. He said they not only brought together the travel retail players in the region but also became a showcase for local brands looking to expand their presence in the sector.

The association improved communications, he added, by introducing a fresh newsletter format as well as improving its website, which is now in the final testing phase. In alignment with ETRC, the association has also engaged with ministries and customs organisations on a range of topics related to travel retail. ✈
