Chanel brings heritage, history and an air of exclusivity to Barcelona Airport

Chanel and World Duty Free Group have partnered in an exciting collaboration at Barcelona-El Prat Airport Terminal 1.

A pop-up installation, Les Exclusifs de Chanel, brings the world of Chanel to the T1 entrance (and to Spanish travel retail for the first time) from 19 August to 13 October.

The 31sq m pop-up offer travellers the chance to explore 15 fragrances, all presented in identical bottles, as well as the seven Extraits – concentrations of Les Exclusifs de Chanel.

These scents have been created down the years by Mademoiselle Chanel’s original perfumer, and creator of Chanel No5, Ernest Beaux (N°22, Gardenia, Bois des Iles, Sycomore, Cuir de Russie), then continued by the celebrated Chanel perfumer, Jacques Polge (the creator of Eau de Cologne, Bel Respiro, 28 La Pausa, 31 rue Cambon, N°18, Coromandel, Beige, Jersey, and 1932). The collection is completed by the newest addition to Les Exclusifs, Misia – the first fragrance for Chanel by Olivier Polge, son of and successor to Jacques.

MMisia is a reference to Misia Sert – the dearest friend of Mademoiselle Chanel and a muse for artists. In the late 1900s, Misia became the hidden figure behind the creation of the famous Ballets Russes. Olivier Polge was inspired by the Ballets Russes and the exciting atmosphere of the Opera Garnie. If these legendary evenings had to be concentrated into a single scent, violet would stand out, he decided.

Violet, Grasse rose, iris, tonka bean and Laotian benzoin are some of the components of the Misia fragrance, designed to heighten femininity and elegance.
