Chanel unveils new fragrance, beauty and eyewear boutique at New York JFK T1

Pearls and camelias: The new store with International Shoppes features Chanel’s distinctive design codes

USA. French luxury house Chanel has opened a new fragrance and beauty boutique at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 1. The store opened in partnership with New York-headquartered travel retailer International Shoppes on 20 December.

The elegant boutique offers the brand’s full range of men and women’s fragrances as well as its makeup and skincare lines. Highlights include ‘Les Eaux de Chanel’ and ‘Les Exclusifs de Chanel’ ranges, as well as limited-edition seasonal one-off makeup products. In a regional first (see below), it also houses an eyewear range.

The boutique’s extensive fragrance offer ranges from classic Chanel N°5 to Les Exclusifs de Chanel and Les Eaux de Chanel lines

The store design reflects the brand’s signature monochromatic palette, accented with familiar Chanel motifs such as camellias and pearls.

The boutique offers personalised skincare consultations, bespoke gift-wrapping services, hydration touch-ups and makeup application so visitors can create their own Chanel beauty looks.

The new airport store also marks the first time that Chanel has launched a dedicated eyewear space in an American airport. It carries exclusive eyewear styles from Chanel’s latest Spring 2020 Collection.

The new eyewear line was designed by Chanel Artistic Director Virginie Viard and offers bejewelled spectacles and illuminated golden frames. The collection has been described as ‘ultra-feminine’ and reimagines some of the fashion house’s key design codes; including the Chanel logo and the brand’s signature quilting.
