ChangeGroup seals contract for foreign exchange services at St. Pancras International

UK. Foreign currency and financial services provider ChangeGroup has agreed a long-term contract to offer currency exchange services at London’s St. Pancras International rail station. The deal will see ChangeGroup operate two currency exchange branches and ten ATMs at the travel hub.

Services to be delivered include fast travel cash, international bank transfers, and buyback cover will be offered, along with concessionaire banking to support other operators within the station.

“As the travel industry continues to rebound, we are committed to aggressively expanding in order to provide essential services and enhance the experience of as many travellers as possible” – ChangeGroup International CEO and Co-Founder Sacha Zackariya

ChangeGroup – which served over 4.1 million customers in 2019 – noted that these services will particularly appeal to those boarding the Eurostar to mainland Europe, which operates on the HS1 railway from St. Pancras International.

More than 15 members of staff have been appointed to operate the two new branches, and ChangeGroup said it is hoping to employ a further seven people before the end of the year.

ChangeGroup’s branches offer foreign currency exchange in more than 50 currencies, whilst the ATMs can dispense up to three major currencies.

Travellers at St. Pancras International rail station will have access to a wide range of financial services through ChangeGroup

ChangeGroup International CEO and Co-Founder Sacha Zackariya said: “As the travel industry continues to rebound, we are committed to aggressively expanding in order to provide essential services and enhance the experience of as many travellers as possible.

He added: “St. Pancras International is a vital travel hub, helping millions of passengers pass through London and this new deal means ChangeGroup now operates in a key gateway location in London in addition to two of the city’s four key airports.

St. Pancras International is one of the largest train stations in the UK and is building back towards pre-COVID-19 pandemic user numbers, when the station served around 50 million people annually.

As well as providing a terminus for various domestic routes, St. Pancras International houses Eurostar’s services, which transports travellers to a number of destinations across France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

St. Pancras International Commercial Director of HS1 Wendy Spinks said: “We are excited to welcome ChangeGroup to our iconic station, where they will provide travellers with helpful currency and financial services, especially for those who need fast travel cash before heading abroad on the Eurostar.”
