SINGAPORE. The Trinity Forum – the world’s leading airport commercial revenues conference – is to make a welcome in-person return on 1-2 November 2022 with Changi Airport Group as host.
The event, created by The Moodie Davitt Report in 2003 and now co-organised with Airports Council International (ACI) World and ACI Asia Pacific, has been suspended for the past two years due to the global pandemic. The Trinity Forum was last held in October-November 2019 in Doha, when it was memorably hosted by Qatar Airways Group.
The Trinity Forum 2022 promises to deliver a provocative and challenging programme about the big issues facing global travel retail, while also celebrating the industry’s encouraging revival as the pandemic eases. News of a high-profile speaker line-up and registration details will follow soon.
Delegates will enjoy outstanding networking opportunities during the event. The Gala Dinner – a highlight of any Trinity Forum – will take place at the spectacular Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel) on 2 November.
The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said: “We are thrilled to announce the return of The Trinity Forum after a two-year hiatus due to the global pandemic. The event couldn’t be timelier as the airport commercial revenues sector continues its steady and encouraging recovery in the wake of increased passenger traffic.
“Never has the need for closer collaboration between sector stakeholders – the essence of the Trinity concept since the event’s launch in 2003 – been greater. Our sector must engage with and delight the traveller as never before. We are thrilled therefore to welcome Changi Airport Group as our 2022 host, an airport company that has always put the consumer experience at the forefront of its operational and commercial philosophy.”
ACI World Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said: “We are glad to pursue this partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report and ACI Asia-Pacific while the industry progresses in its recovery.
“With the retail experience being an integral part of the travel journey, The Trinity Forum is the ideal platform to bring airports, concessionaires, brands, and other members of the aviation ecosystem together to further elevate and innovate the customer experience. This event brings great opportunities to the airport community and our partners in helping to enhance the travel journey and continue our unrelenting focus on the customer.”
ACI Asia-Pacific Director General Stefano Baronci said: “At ACI Asia Pacific, we are immensely proud to partner with Changi Airport Group, a pioneer in commercial excellence, in hosting The Trinity Forum, a prestigious event that will witness the coming together of industry leaders from across the world to deliberate on issues facing global travel retail.
“We are also pleased to continue our partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report, the industry’s leading business intelligence and news provider for the global travel retail sector. With non-aeronautical revenues being the key driver of airport recovery, this is an opportunity for the sector to collaborate to drive commercial excellence as travel continues to recover. We look forward to welcoming delegates from all over the world and working with Changi Airport Group and ACI World to make this event a success.”
Changi Airport Group Airside Concessions Managing Director Teo Chew Hoon said: “We’re honoured to be the host for The Trinity Forum which will take place in Singapore as an in-person event after a two-year hiatus. The timing could not be better as Singapore welcomes all vaccinated travellers to rediscover the joy of travelling and soak up new Changi cxperiences that await.
“Since its opening in 2019, Jewel has awed visitors with its stunning architecture and breath-taking indoor features such as the HSBC Rain Vortex, which is the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. This is in addition to the wide variety of retail and dining options at Changi Airport which we continue to expand through cultivating relationships with our travel retail partners and brands even during the depth of the pandemic.
“As borders around the world continue to open, we are confident that Changi Airport will fulfil its fullest potential as a leading air hub and travel retailer for the region and it is befitting that we celebrate the industry’s recovery within this awe-inspiring environment.”
