CAMBODIA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) today celebrated the Grand Opening of its second downtown duty free store in Cambodia.
A CDFG spokesman told The Moodie Report that the 450sq m store, based in the southwest province of Sihanoukville, offers a range of beauty products, tobacco, wines & spirits and local items.
The opening comes almost precisely a year since CDFG unveiled its first downtown duty free store in Siem Reap, called Angkor Duty Free.
That 4,500sq m store has proven a major success, buoyed by a rapid increase in Chinese tourists to Cambodia.

In November Angkor Duty Free signed cooperation agreements with two Chinese firms, Beijing Huachao United Assets Management and Teshehui Group, to drive up the number of Chinese tourists to Cambodia. The move was in line with the Cambodian government’s plan to increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting the nation to one million per year.
The CDFG spokesperson confirmed to The Moodie Report that the retailer will open a third Cambodian shop in Phnom Penh in August.
