China Duty Free Group wins bid to run Fuzhou pre-departure downtown duty-free store

CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has won a further bid to operate a pre-departures downtown duty-free store in the Mainland, this time in Fuzhou, Fujian province.

As reported earlier today, CDFG also bid successfully for three city duty-free shop projects in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Xi’an.

The contract is one of several offered under the government’s key extension to the Chinese travel retail ecosystem announced in August and implemented progressively over a three-month period from 1 October.

CDFG said: “Fuzhou, as an important city on the southeast coast, was one of the first coastal cities in the country to open to the outside world. It is a demonstration zone for marine economic development and a gateway to the Maritime Silk Road. It is also the closest Mainland capital city to Taiwan.”
