Major brand launch: This Nutella Moon jar is enriched with a travel-exclusive design |
LUXEMBOURG. In a major launch, Ferrero introduced its best-selling chocolate spread brand Nutella for the first time at the TFWA World Exhibition last month.
After more than 40 years in the domestic market, Nutella is described by the confectionery giant as the best known chocolate and hazelnut spread in the world.
Next year, Ferrero will launch two travel retail exclusive packs to satisfy both gifting and self-consumption needs:
Nutella Sun&Moon uses the traditional icon of the jar (350g) enriched with a travel-exclusive design. Aimed at collectors and the gift market, the jar is available in two versions: Sun and Moon, in order to widen the choice, the company explained.
Nutella Carry-on pack (333g) is described as “a special offer intended for travellers who go on holiday and do not want to have breakfast without Nutella”. Available exclusively to the duty free market in a re-sealable pack for sharing, the pack contains 18 mini portions (18.5g each) which can be eaten on the move, thanks to 18 individually wrapped spoons.
In other product news, the company showed buyers at Cannes its new travel retail exclusive Ferrero Rocher Golden Edition, available in two sizes, the 150g for an informal gift and the 300g for a premium gift. The classic 375g has also been improved with a new packaging design.
Other major novelties for 2009 include new pralines Ferrero Rondnoir and Ferrero Garden, along with four exclusive Kinder travel retail exclusive packs: Kinder Chocolate Color Kit featuring 100g of Kinder Chocolate, six colour felt pens and three postcards; Kinder Surprise with Looney Tunes characters; Kinder Schokobons, now available in a big sharing bag of 320g; and Kinder Snack Pack, containing more than 500g of Kinder chocolates in a handy bag.
