EGYPT. Cairo Duty Free has begun carrying specially tailored destination-themed chocolates from the leading Belgian supplier Corné Port Royal.
Corné Port Royal has created a praline box with a see-through top containing 15 chocolate figures of Cleopatra and Ramses II, both in milk (praliné and nougatine) and dark (praliné and nougatine with couverture 77%) chocolates.
A second box presentation, also developed specially for the Cairo Airport operator, features a photograph of an Egyptian sphinx on the outer packaging and contains sphinx-shaped chocolates.
Corné Port Royal also has a similar Praha (Prague) presentation which is being sold at the Acron and CSA duty free shops at Prague Airport.
The idea for the Egyptian destination merchandise came from Corné Port Royal’s duty free agent Francis Beylemans of Francis Selection.
Both products were shipped to Cairo Duty Free at the end of December for sale from 30 December 2006.
