Clinique aims to brighten eyes in a ‘snap, pop, swipe’ with new cream

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream is said to also act as a good base for make-up

Clinique has strengthened its eye product offer with the introduction of Pep-Start Eye Cream.

Designed to combat dark circles and puffiness and speed up cellular metabolism, Pep-Start Eye Cream is a lightweight combination of soothing and energising anti-irritant ingredients.

The “˜Pep’ in the name refers not only to the stimulation the product gives to the eye area but also the fact that the product contains seven peptides. The peptides, along with calming botanical extracts, are said to maintain collagen and leave the eye area brightened, refreshed and smoothed.

The applicator is custom-designed for ease and to enhance the use of the product, said Clinique. According to the brand, users should “˜snap’ open the custom-spherical applicator to dispense a pea-sized amount of cream to the tip, then “˜pop’ the applicator to the closed position and “˜swipe’ the product in a circular motion around the eye area, including lids.

Clinique Vice President Global Product Development Eileen Higgins said: “Busy and demanding schedules, late nights out and inadequate hours of sleep can all lead to tired looking eyes. All these factors affect the delicate, thin skin around the eye area which is always hard to treat and reveals signs of dehydration, puffiness and dark circles. Pep-Start Eye Cream helps to reveal brighter, more luminous eyes.”

Pep-Start Eye Cream is available now at Clinique travel retail counters across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas and will be on-counter from April 2016 in Asia Pacific travel retail locations.
