Welsh gold jewellery brand Clogau has added a new feminine scent and four designer silk scarves to its Spring/Summer 2015 collection. As previously reported, Clogau is keen to explore new opportunities within fragrance and fashion, and last year diversified its product offer with the creation of the Am Byth Eau de Toilette.
Now the company has unveiled a second fragrance, called Cariad (the Welsh word for love). The citrus edt features oil of grapefruit, bergamot, lemon and cassis. It retails domestically at around £20 for 30ml.

Also new for 2015 is a collection of silk scarves, created to complement Clogau’s best-selling jewellery collections. They were designed by Lisa Stannard, Head Assistant to Whitney Port at LA-based fashion label Whitney Eve. Stannard has previously worked for a number of well-known brands, including Miss Selfridge, Oasis and Johnnie Walker.
The four designs were inspired by two of Clogau’s most iconic collections, Am Byth and Polo, and feature elements that are intrinsic to each line. The recommended domestic price-point is £50.
“We feel the timing is right to expand our brand offering and enter into new and exciting categories that complement our jewellery portfolio,” explained Clogau Brand Manager Sonia Menezes. “We have a growing retail presence in the UK and overseas. These items are the perfect add-on gift or self purchase.”
She added: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Arran Aromatics on developing the fragrances. They’re a fantastic company with strong Celtic roots, founded by Janet & Iain Russell in the kitchen of their cottage on the beautiful Isle of Arran. The scarves are beautiful, stunning interpretations of some of our best-loved designs. We will add in seasonal colourways for Autumn 2015.”
Further diversification is in the pipeline, to include a range of accessories within Clogau’s Heartstrings collection.
In other news, next month the brand will exhibit at the IAADFS Duty Free Shows of the Americas for the first time (Booth: 739).
