Clogau Gold aiming to raise £15,000 for charity – 23/09/09

UK. Leading Welsh jewellery brand Clogau Gold has extended its Daffodil collection in support of the UK’s Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.

The silver and rose gold Daffodil stick pin will retail at £99, and £10 from the sale of each piece will be donated to the charity. The company is hoping to raise £15,000 to cover the costs of providing 750 hours of specialist care from Marie Curie nurses, who provide nursing care, free of charge, for terminally ill patients in their own homes.

Clogau Gold will donate £10 from the sale of each Daffodil stick pin to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity

Following the success of the silver and rose gold Marie Curie Daffodil pendant, launched in March, the silver Daffodil stick pin has been created due to customer demand for a men’s item to support the worthy cause, said the brand.

The silver and rose gold daffodil can be worn by both men and women as a symbol of their support for Marie Curie Cancer Care, Glogau Gold added.

The silver and rose gold Marie Curie Daffodil pendant – as worn by the actress Joanna Page who plays Stacy in the hit British sitcom “Gavin and Stacy” – has quickly become one of Clogau’s best-selling pieces.

As with all the items created by Clogau Gold, each handcrafted piece supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care contains a rare Welsh gold mined from the Clogau St David’s mine in Snowdonia, North Wales.

Each stick pin and pendant has been handcrafted using solid sterling silver and 9ct rose gold. The reverse of the stick pin features the Clogau Gold, Welsh Dragon and Marie Curie Cancer Care stamps.

Since 1923 Britain’s Royal family have been wearing wedding rings crafted from Clogau gold extracted from the Clogau St David’s gold mine.
