CHINA. China National Service Corporation (CNSC) has reopened its downtown duty free store in the heart of Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province.
The upgraded shop, which opened on 18 June, offers a new concept that radiates central China with Zhengzhou as its centre, CNSC said. The retailer said the new-look store will provide a better duty free shopping experience for Chinese travellers returning from abroad.
The store has been divided into five areas: a makeup boutique, a makeup gallery, a fashion & lifestyle zone, a wellbeing area and a fashion & watches gallery. Fourteen categories are featured, including cosmetics, fragrances, beauty technology, handbags, jewellery, sunglasses, watches, consumer technology and children’s products.
CNSC said the reopening is key to boosting its nationwide presence in the burgeoning Chinese duty free market. The retailer said that the store will enhance the shopping experience for Chinese consumers and bring a highly distinctive business to Zhengzhou.
CNSC now plans to launch a series of compelling in-store activities across its Chinese store network to further improve the duty free shopping experience.
As reported, CNSC has embarked on a sustained investment programme and has conducted ambitious refurbishments of its downtown stores in Dalian, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Harbin, as well as Zhengzhou.
In the second half of this year, the retailer will open a near 1,800sq m post-arrivals duty free store in Beijing FUN (北京坊), a commercial and cultural development adjacent to the National Palace Museum, National Grand Theatre, National Museum and other renowned cultural institutions.
CNSC is also pressing ahead with projects in Qingdao, Chongqing and Hefei. In the coastal city of Qingdao, the retailer is looking to open a store on the first floor of the HNA Center in the city’s core commercial circle.
