CHINA. Sinopharm-owned China National Service Corporation for Chinese Personnel Working Abroad (CNSC) has officially launched online with JD.com.
The CNSC Offshore Duty Free store and CNSC Members store have been introduced on the platform in the form of mini programs.
As reported, in February CNSC and JD Worldwide-Lagardère (HK) Company Limited (a joint venture between JD.com and French travel retailer Lagardère) entered into a strategic cooperation.

In news released via multiple Chinese media, including Sina-controlled Weibo, Sinopharm described the move as a key development in the full-platform coverage of its duty free online marketing matrix.
Users can enter the store by searching for ‘CNSC Duty Free’ and ‘CNSC Members’ on the JD app, or by scanning the QR code of the applet through WeChat and the JD app.
Hainan tourists can purchase goods in advance on the CNSC Offshore Duty Free store at the earliest 30 days before leaving the island. Travellers who have a record of visiting Hainan within the previous 180 days can directly place an order to purchase duty free goods from the CNSC Members store.
A large number of international brands are on offer across multiple categories, including makeup, skincare, perfume, wines & spirits and 3C digital. Products include La Mer, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Clé de Peau, Armani, YSL, Hennessy, Martell and Apple.
During the opening period, a range of attractive discounts is in place.
Sinopharm said: “With the help of each other’s advantageous resources, we will strengthen cooperation in the fields of offshore duty free, online and offline duty free, and cross-border e-commerce, and help CNSC’s digital transformation and upgrading.”

The company said that the CNSC Offshore Duty Free and CNSC Members stores launched on JD.com represent the launch project for the strategic cooperation between the two parties.
CNSC is the pioneer of duty free shopping in China. Its duty free business covers Chinese downtown, offshore, seaports and airport ports across both arrivals and departures as well as some overseas locations.

JD.com, described as a “one-stop consumption platform for imported products”, not only meets consumer shopping needs for high-quality imported products, but also offers omni-channel strength across store operations, supply chain, logistics, marketing and other sectors, CNSC said. It is one of the key partners for CNSC’s digital development, the company added.
CNSC said that it will deepen the cooperation with JD.com, continuously expanding the online duty free business. Jointly the two enterprises will seek to leverage their collective resources to explore wider cooperation areas such as downtown and port duty free through the integration of online and offline channels.
Such initiatives will help provide consumers with a better duty free shopping experience, and continue to promote and accelerate the pace of digital transformation within the real economy, CNSC said.
Note: CNSC reopened in Sanya on 15 April after a 13-day closure due to a limited number of COVID-19 cases imported into Sanya City. Fellow Sanya retailer HTDF, which has also closed due to the outbreak, reopened on 17 April.
As reported, China Duty Free Group reopened the Sanya Internationa Duty Free Shopping Complex, including the CDF Mall, on 11 April following a nine-day closure.
