Coccinelle opens ‘milestone’ boutique with King Power in Thailand

Fashion accessories brand Coccinelle has opened a 60sq m outlet at the new King Power International Group downtown duty free complex in Phuket.

The boutique, described by Coccinelle as a “important milestone” for the company as it targets expansion in Asia and the Pacific, opened in December. It is one of more than 40 new Coccinelle outlets to open in Asia and Europe in 2015.

The boutique features a new store concept, aimed at showcasing products, using steel wall display units and fumé mirrors. The store features the Coccinelle Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

Coccinelle noted the attention to artisanal detail in the new range, adding that “simplicity and functionality are prerequisites in the new luxury which lies in trimmings and workmanship”. Designs feature precious materials and graphic touches with perforations combined with soft and natural tones. Topstitching, zig-zag seams and leather corners on canvas are said to give Coccinelle classics a new look.

According to Coccinelle, its new range “rediscovers” lightness: linings are replaced by skin on the inside, and leather is often doubled and ultra-light while cedar and seashell colours are used to contrast interiors and highlight shapes.

Coccinelle Head of Travel Retail Emanuele Mazziotta said: “The opening at King Power International’s new downtown duty free complex in Phuket is another important milestone for Coccinelle which aims to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pacific region. We thank King Power International for all their efforts and support for this opening.”

In December Coccinelle also opened on board the MS Europa 2 cruise ship and in Russia at Sochi International Airport.

“We had more than 40 openings in 2015 from Europe to Asia Pacific at airports, downtown duty free malls, diplomatic shops and cruise ships. We look forward to welcoming the New Year with several openings in new locations worldwide,” Mazziotta added.
