Cochin Duty Free expands Onam promotion with liquor partners

INDIA. Aldeasa-Alpha Kreol India has initiated a major promotion with leading drinks companies Pernod Ricard, Diageo and Moët Hennessy to celebrate Onam, the largest festival in the state of Kerala.

The initiative follows the roll-out of an earlier promotion in partnership with Beam Global Spirits & Wines at Cochin International Airport.

Celebrated throughout the state of Kerala, Onam is a harvest festival linked to the legend of King Mahabali whose spirit is said to visit and bless his subjects at this time, according to Kreol Travel Retail Chief Executive A.S. Lal. The festival is marked by rituals including grand feasts, song, dance, games and fairs.

Expatriate Keralites often link their annual homecomings to this occasion, which is also a major tourist attraction, he noted.

“We expect a substantial increase in footfall and average spend by our loyal and valued customers during August, September and October. As this is summer vacation season for ex-pat Keralites, families coming home for the holidays will be greeted with these surprise offers at Cochin Duty Free,” Lal said.
