NETHERLANDS. Colorful Licenses burst into the TFWA World Exhibition with a riot of colour as it showed its latest Oilily accessories as well as the new McGregor bag collection, which was shown for the first time in Cannes (see earlier story). For buyers seeking something fresh and different, the company introduced the Leontine Hagoort collection of designer handbags (pictured left and in the slideshow below).
For the popular Dutch brand Oilily, the company has developed a new travel retail programme of promotions for 2008 comprising specially designed sets that can be customised by retailers.
For inflight sale, promotional items include a pouch that contains a fragrance and a set that combines a bag with hair accessories and lip balm.
Oilily Spring/Summer 08 collection
Taking inspiration from flowers found in a summer garden, the Spring/Summer 08 collection of Oilily bags and accessories from Colorful Licenses features classic styles together with new designs.
The Summer Garden collection offers popular styles from the Overnighter and City Bag to fresh designs, including a restyled hobo bag, a new style of city hobo bag, a small compact pocket cosmetic bag, a new folding shopper, a practical shoulder bag, a flat cosmetic bag and the season’s favourite – a clutch bag.
Three new colourways have been introduced to reflect the summer season: coral, cream and lavender.
“We have added a number of new designs, which we hope will attract a new customer to the Oilily brand,” said Colorful Licenses Marketing Manager Delia Dekker. “Of course, we have kept in the classic styles, which are always popular but the new colours and new Summer Garden floral pattern takes the Oilily bag collection to a new, more sophisticated level.”
This new season’s range also boasts high quality finishing touches, such as steel logos and reinforced panels with embossed patches on the base for additional protection. The fabric is water repellent inside and out, making each item in the collection durable and functional.
Handbag styles include the City Bag which features a pocket inside for a mobile phone and two front pockets; and the Flap Shoulder Bag with an adjustable shoulder strap and zipped compartments. For business, the Office Bag incorporates a laptop compartment and a front pocket organiser, including a mobile phone pocket and space for business cards, pens and stationery.
The price range for the collection is from €20 to €199.
Introducing the Leontine Hagoort handbag collection
Colorful Licenses took the opportunity of its Cannes presence to introduce to the trade the Leontine Hagoort handbag collection.
Aimed at travel retailers with a real focus on fashion, the niche label boasts handbags in a riot of colour created by the same designer responsible for the Oilily bag collections.
Export Manager Hein Rugebregt Paredes, who recently joined Colorful Licenses from Armani, said the Dutch designer had gained a faithful following among fashionistas seeking something fresh and different.
He explained: “Leontine Hagoort is the designer for Oilily and McGregor bags and she launched her own label three years ago, which means she’s free to design what she wants. It’s a growing brand and we’re helping her to expand internationally. We’re very excited to have her in our portfolio.”
The brand has achieved listings in a number of designer fashion stores across Europe, including Bon Marché in Paris, the US and Asia, where the bags are proving particularly popular in Taiwan and Japan.
The Spring/Summer 08 range, called Summer Mix, is made up of 22 designs. The signature look is a mix of folklore, western and vintage in an up-to-date style.
Sporty striped bags stand next to an oriental embroideried beauty bag in a modern combination. The colour palette of black, grey and earth tones combine with bright pink and aqua to give the collection a fresh touch.
Decorative motifs include stitches, pockets and zippers, and all styles are trimmed with leather. Sizes run from small to kingsize.
Retail prices for Leontine Hagoort bags range from €150 to €300.
