Conakry Airport seeks advertising business concessionaire

GUINEA. Conakry International Airport is seeking a concessionaire for its advertising business, under a five-year contract beginning on 1 January 2012.

The airport company currently manages its advertising in-house, and this is the first time it has sought to outsource the business.

“We believe that an international company specialised in advertising business will have the know-how and financial capabilities to attract more clients and to invest in new and up-to-date advertising sites,” said Oulaba Kabassan Keita, CEO of the Société de Gestion et d’Exploitation de l’Aéroport de Conakry (SOGEAC).

“That’s why our strategy is now to outsource the advertising services. We think that by outsourcing advertising to an international advertising company we will generate more revenues for SOGEAC and offer a better level of quality to our passengers.”

The airport is currently undergoing a renovation and enhancement of its International Terminal Building infrastructures. SOGEAC’s total investment in upgrading the terminal facilities is US$17 million.

The deadline for proposals is 1 December 2011.
