Concessions International to open Bar Symon at Washington Dulles

USA. Concessions International (CI) is set to open a Bar Symon concept at Washington Dulles International Airport, one of a number of new openings at the location. The bistro-style restaurant is located in Concourse D near gate D14.

It is operated as a joint venture between CI and Cleveland-based United Concessions Group (UCG) an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) owned by Hayat Rababy. This is the first partnership between the companies.

Bar Symon is the concept of James Beard award-winning Iron Chef Michael Symon and was created specifically for airports. He opened the first Bar Symon airport location at Pittsburgh International, which remains in operation today.

“Bar Symon is a great American bistro for airport guests looking for something different than your typical bar and grill,” said CI Chief Executive Donata Russell Major. “Chef Symon has become a household name across the country and many diners will jump at the chance to try his unique menu items.”

Bar Symon’s menu features new and traditional American cuisine with an emphasis on comfort food. Guests can choose from a selection of burgers and sandwiches, as well as Greek and Italian entrees. Menu items include a Pulled Pork Breakfast Burrito, the signature Lola Burger and Lola fries sprinkled with kosher salt and fresh rosemary.

This will be one of several restaurant openings for CI in 2015. The concessionaire recently opened DC Craft Brews at Washington Dulles and Taylor Gourmet Deli at Reagan National. It will soon open a Chef Geoff’s location at Washington Dulles.
