Continuing the quest for excellence: Maison Villevert acquires Celtic Whisky Compagnie

Maison Villevert has announced the acquisition of French craft distiller Celtic Whisky Compagnie.

The Glann Ar Mor and Kornog whiskies produced by the distillery will now benefit from the sophisticated Maison Villevert international distribution network. This means the brands will become stablemates with G’Vine and Nouaison gins, June gin liqueur, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal, La Guilde du Cognac and Excellia Tequila.

Maison Villevert’s aim is to promote expertly-crafted French spirits globally, something it aims to achieve with the Celtic Whisky Compagnie brands

Celtic Whisky Compagnie was founded in 1997 by Martine and Jean Donnay and has become well known for authentic Celtic distilling methods. The company produces using wooden fermenters and coil condensers over an open flame. It also distils slowly in small, onion-shaped stills and ages in bourbon casks before bottling at natural colour.

Maison Villevert Founder & Director Jean-Sébastien Robicquet said: “I am full of admiration for Martine and Jean Donnay’s hard work and success over the past 20 years. Together they have demonstrated their passion, conviction, expertise and a thirst for excellence, with spectacular results.”

Martine and Jean Donnay added: “We have been convinced by Jean Sébastien’s vision and passion, and are highly confident of the fact that he will pursue our quest for excellence, while allowing Celtic Whisky Compagnie to develop itself internationally.”
