COSMETICS: Clarins shows off new Super Serum

FRANCE. Clarins showed off the latest addition to its Multi-Intensif skincare line at last month’s TFWA World Exhibition. Super Restorative Serum will enter most travel retail markets in the first half of 2004, with the exception of Asia, where Clarins’ focus for that period will be the roll-out of its new whitening range. “Clarins will implement a regional approach for its major launches next year,” confirmed Pascale Marchetti, travel retail operational marketing director, international market division. “This will allow us to better target our new introductions.”

Super Restorative Serum – a top-end treatment – is aimed at women aged 50 and over and is designed to balance hormonal changes on the skin. It will retail at around €98 (US$112).

Meanwhile in Asia, the company will introduce its new whitening range, White Plus, in the first semester. The seven-sku range, designed to fight hyper-pigmentation, includes innovative items such as a detoxifying mousse. Four key products will be repackaged for the Americas market as Bright Plus, complete with a clarifying/brightening (as opposed to whitening) positioning.

In addition, Clarins will reformulate and repackage its self-tanning range next year. Two new products will join the line – a gel for the face and a veil for the legs – which will be promoted with a new ad campaign.

Within make-up, the company will introduce a new foundation, called True Radiance, into Europe and the US. Its spring/summer seasonal look, which will once again feature limited-edition products, is called Sweet Sensations.
