COSMETICS: Jurlique set for IAADFS debut

AUTRALIA/US. In line with its efforts to strengthen its travel retail presence (The Moodie Report.com, 15 October 2003) Australian beauty brand Jurlique will make its debut at the forthcoming IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas, via its worldwide duty free agent Escale Group.

The brand, which promotes itself as “the purest skin care on earth”, is based on the principles of holistic well-being, and features natural, organic ingredients which are grown on the company’s herb farms in Australia. Every step of production is controlled within the company, from owning and operating the herb farms, to training its retail staff and therapists.

Jurlique enjoys a strong domestic presence worldwide through concept and department stores, and day spas. It is already available throughout key Asia/Pacific travel retail doors, for example at Hong Kong International (pictured above) with Nuance-Watson (HK), and at Melbourne and Sydney International Airport. In terms of inflight, Jurlique has been listed onboard Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, effective April 2004.

Jurlique has a well-established celebrity following, with the likes of Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Will Smith and Pierce Brosnan reportedly firm fans. Blanchett is pictured (left) with company founder Dr Jurgen Klein and Escale’s Caroline Cheung at last month’s Jurlique-sponsored Australian Film Festival gala dinner, held at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
