ITALY. Beauty group PUPA has announced an aggressive target for sales growth this year of +20%, supported mainly by a strengthening of its existing presence in Asian markets and seeking new commercial partners in other parts of the region.
For the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore in May, PUPA said it will combine the event with a series of major product launches, confirming the principles that have made PUPA the “Made in Italy” brand famous around the world.
The PUPA brand is already present in many Asian domestic markets: Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea. In duty free PUPA is present in Indonesia, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea. New points of sale are planned for opening during 2003 are: New Guinea (June 2003), French Polynesia (June 2003), New Zealand (June 2003), India (April/May 2003) and Sri Lanka (June 2003). Other declared goals this year are listings in duty free in Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. New stores or corners planned for 2004 are duty free in Hong Kong, China, Thailand and the Japanese domestic market.
The most important product launches that will be presented at TFWA Asia Pacific this year are: the Love Kit makeup kit which is due on shelf in June 2003, Fairy Tales makeup kit (December 2003), Gold Collection makeup collection (June 2003) and the New Chic lipstick with mirror in a range of 24 colours (September 2003). J by PUPA eau de toilette for women (pictured) will launch in June 2003.
