Cosmopolitan Cosmetics introduces new Mexx and Trussardi fragrances – 02/07/04

FRANCE. Cosmopolitan Cosmetics is launching a new twin fragrance line from international fashion house Mexx this month. Mexx waterlove will be available in selected domestic and travel retail European, Middle Eastern and Asian markets.

Positioned as a vivid and spontaneous duo, the new fragrances are broadly targeted at men and women aged 18 to 35 years, with the core target aged 19 to 29.

Mexx waterlove woman (pictured left), created by Nathalie Lorson of Firmenich, features top notes of white peach, apricot and melon, leading to a floral heart of freesia, lily of the valley and heliotrope, on a base of vanilla, Tonka bean, white musk and sandalwood.

The full line-up features 40ml and 60ml edps, a 40ml edt spray, a 200ml shower gel, a 200ml body lotion, two spray deos and a 50ml roll-on. The recommended domestic price points range from €12.50 to €28.

Mexx waterlove man opens on citrus notes of bergamot, sweet lime and pineapple. The heart features jasmine and violet; the dry-down dark mahogany, oak moss and sandalwood.

The men’s collection comprises 50ml and 75ml edt sprays, 50ml and 75ml aftershaves, a 200ml hair & body shower gel, two spray and one stick deodorant. Again, price points range from €12.50 to €28.

Both fragrances are presented in square glass flacons, topped with a matte silver-coloured clip-style cap. The outer cartons are complementary shades of silver, with a flash of blue for the men’s version and a violet flash for the women’s.

Also new from Cosmopolitan Cosmetics is a new men’s fragrance from Trussardi, called Trussardi Jeans Men (right). The target market is younger male consumers, aged 25 to 35.

The juice, a fresh and woody fougère, features notes of fig, blackcurrant leaves, lychee and cedar wood.

The flacon is a heavy glass bottle, coloured inky blue and orange. The outer carton also sports a blue background, with the Trussardi name underlined by an orange “seam”.

The Trussardi Jeans Men full product line-up comprises 30ml, 50ml and 100ml edt sprays, a 150ml deo spray, a 250ml shower gel and a 100ml aftershave soothing gel. The recommended domestic price points range from €20 to €54.
